Questionnaire on Stress

Although there is no single questionnaire on stress to find out how much stress you’re subjected to on a daily basis, there are certain questions you can ask yourself that will lead you to make some changes in your lifestyle.

How we perceive stress quote

Here are 10 major questions to ask yourself to get an idea about how much stress you’re dealing with in your life. Once you know what these stressors might be, you can go about finding the answers on how to deal with them effectively.

  1. Do you depend on alcohol, caffeine, smoking or drugs to get you through the day (and night)?
  2. Do you feel depressed and distracted most of the time?
  3. Do you frequently miss work because of headaches or lack of motivation?
  4. Do you often bring work home at night or over the weekend?
  5. Are you procrastinating so much that you’re behind on everything from paying bills to job tasks?
  6. Do you let guilt and remorse keep you from enjoying life?
  7. Do you sleep in excess or have problems getting enough sleep?
  8. Are you binge-eating or not eating enough (excessive weight gain or loss)?
  9. You have difficulty concentrating and making decisions?
  10. You feel extremely fatigued and have muscular aches?

If you answered “yes” to half of these questions, you’re most likely stressed to the point that you are or will begin to experience physical and mental health problems. Unless you begin a stress management program, you’re apt to develop related illnesses.

Stress-related illnesses include diabetes, headaches, fatigue, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, anxiety and depression. Answering “yes” to most or all of the above questions should alert you to the fact that you need help in controlling the stress in your life.

Everyday brings a choice quote

You can take control of stress and enjoy life more if you begin to address the elements in your life that’s causing you to succumb to stress. You’ll want to begin with those elements in your life that are easiest to control. That will give you courage and determination to go on to the next.

Get support from those around you. Friends, family and coworkers can help make the challenges easier to overcome. Get professional help for the extreme stress in your life that may be causing the most severe problems that threaten your health and well-being.

Don't stress about all that quote

Some types of stress may be handled with simple techniques such as deep breathing and meditation while others may be more challenging and require more work and effort. No matter how you choose to fight the symptoms of stress, it’s vitally important that you address them rather than sweeping them under the rug and hoping they’ll go away.

This questionnaire isn’t intended to be a complete diagnosis of your stress problems. It can, however, point out some critical and debilitating issues in your life that could eventually affect your health – both mentally and physically.
